Carnival Cruise Line has rolled out FunPacks, its biggest-ever set of pre-cruise bundles that combine onboard extras — Wi-Fi, drinks, shore excursions, specialty dining, spa and photo discounts, and family perks — into one purchase. According to the line, buying a pack cuts 35 to 55 percent off the cost of adding those items separately.

There are four versions to choose from. Kidstarter is aimed at families, Zero Proof focuses on non-alcoholic options, Social blends drinks with social extras, and Epic is the everything-in version. President Christine Duffy framed the launch as a way to make it simpler for guests to lock in the experiences they actually want while paying less.

The catch is timing. FunPacks can only be booked through My Cruise Manager on Carnival's website between October 14 and 30, 2026, and they apply to sailings departing October 31, 2026 through December 31, 2027. If you're already booked on a Carnival cruise in that window — or planning one — it's worth marking those dates now rather than waiting until embarkation day, when individual add-ons will cost noticeably more.

Alongside the bundles comes a new drink option: CHEERS! Social. It sits between a soft-drink package and the full CHEERS! alcohol program, offering unlimited non-alcoholic beverages plus three alcoholic drinks per day. It's only available inside the Social FunPack, so occasional drinkers who find the full package overkill now have a middle path.

One more change to factor into your budget: from December 1, 2026, Carnival is moving to dynamic pricing for beverage packages and Wi-Fi plans. Prices will shift depending on sailing length, itinerary and season — much like airline fares. In practice, that means the same drink package could cost more on a peak-season Caribbean sailing than a shoulder-season short cruise, so buying earlier (or via a FunPack) may become the savvier move.

Why it matters: cruise extras have quietly become one of the biggest budget lines on a holiday at sea, and lines are increasingly unbundling then selling things back as packages. For anyone booked with Carnival in the next 14 months, the October 2026 booking window is a genuine money-saving opportunity — up to half off, on paper. Just do the maths for your own style of travel: if you barely drink and live ashore in port, a drinks-heavy pack won't pay off, but heavy Wi-Fi users and families will see real value.
