This privacy policy describes how click.holiday (“we”, “us”) handles information when you visit our website. We are a read-only travel and holiday content site. We do not run user accounts or public comments.
What we collect
Information you send us. If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address, and message you submit, plus basic technical signals used to reduce spam (for example, answers to anti-spam challenges).
Technical data. Like every website, our server receives your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the referring page with each request, and keeps them in its access log for a limited period to run and protect the site.
Our own visitor count. We count visits ourselves, without cookies. When a page has loaded in your browser, it sends a small notice to our own server. For each page view we keep the date, the page, the website you came from (if any), and a short one-way code made from the date, your IP address and your browser type. The code changes every day and cannot be turned back into an IP address, so a visitor is counted once a day and cannot be identified or followed between days. We do not store your IP address or browser type for this. Counts are kept for about 13 months.

Cookies and Google Analytics
Essential cookies. The site sets a cookie that keeps forms secure (for example, the contact form) and protects against misuse. It holds no profile of you and is needed for the site to work.
Google Analytics. When you first visit, a notice asks whether we may use Google Analytics
cookies. Only if you choose Accept does your browser load Google Analytics. It then sets cookies
(named _ga and _ga_…) to recognise your browser between visits, and tells us, as
totals, how many people visit, which pages they read, which countries they are in and how they found us.
Google LLC provides this service to us; the data may be processed in the United States. We do not use
Google Analytics for advertising. See Google's privacy policy

If you choose Decline, Google Analytics is not loaded at all. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; withdrawing switches Analytics off and removes its cookies. Your choice itself is kept in your browser, not sent to us.
Legal basis. Google Analytics runs on your consent. Our own visitor count, the essential cookie and the server log rest on our legitimate interest in running, measuring and protecting the site.
How we use information

Content sources
Stories on click.holiday are independent curations based on publicly available source material. Each story credits the original publisher and links to the source. We do not sell personal data from readers.
Sharing
We may share information with service providers who help us host the site, send email, fight spam, or measure traffic (Google Analytics, only with your consent) — only as needed for those services. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.
Retention
Contact messages are kept as long as needed to handle the enquiry and for legitimate business records. Server logs are kept for a limited operational period. Google keeps Analytics data for the period set in our Analytics account, at most 14 months.
Your choices
You may contact us to ask about data we hold from a contact submission, or to request correction or deletion where applicable. You can accept or decline Google Analytics at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, or block cookies in your browser settings.
Children
click.holiday is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
