Dream Cruises is turning a routine short cruise into a K-pop event. The line has booked rising girl group KIIRAS to perform live onboard Genting Dream during a two-night roundtrip sailing from Singapore to Melaka, running 25-27 October.
The centrepiece is a live outdoor showcase at the ship's main pool deck, and it won't cost passengers anything extra — the performance is complimentary for everyone onboard. Beyond the show, fans get something rarer: an exclusive Meet & Greet in the main lobby, where they can meet the members face to face and grab photos.
Michael Goh, president of StarDream Cruises, framed the sailing as a play for younger travellers who want music, travel and entertainment bundled into one trip. It's also a milestone moment — Dream Cruises is marking its 10th anniversary, and the KIIRAS sailing is part of a broader programme of special sailings and onboard events planned for the anniversary year.
The rest of the voyage looks like standard Genting Dream fare, which is no bad thing for a two-night getaway. The ship carries waterslides, multiple swimming pools, rock climbing walls and the usual spread of dining and entertainment options, so there's plenty to fill the sea days either side of the Melaka call.
The sailing also fits into a bigger picture: Dream Cruises has already rolled out its 2026-27 season, built around a refreshed line-up of two-, three-, four- and five-night itineraries on Genting Dream across Southeast Asia. Short roundtrips from Singapore remain the backbone of the programme, making the ship an easy add-on to a Singapore city break rather than a full holiday commitment.
For K-pop fans, the maths is simple: a cruise fare gets you accommodation, meals, waterslides and a poolside concert plus a meet-and-greet in one booking — often cheaper than a concert ticket alone in some cities. For everyone else, it's a decent excuse to try a short Southeast Asia cruise with a livelier than usual crowd. Expect the mood onboard to skew young and enthusiastic, so if a quiet sailing is the goal, pick a different departure date.
