Carnival Cruise Line is doubling down on its child-free sailing concept, with two more adults-only cruises now on the books for 2027. The sailings, part of the line's SEA Cruises program, went on sale with bookings open through October 16, 2026 — announced via Brand Ambassador John Heald, who said the extra dates were added after strong demand from guests wanting a 21-and-over experience at sea.
The first of the new sailings puts the Carnival Paradise on a six-night Western Caribbean run departing Tampa on February 12, 2027. The Carnival Horizon follows on May 13, 2027 with a nearly identical six-night itinerary, this time roundtrip from Galveston, Texas. Both routes call at Cozumel in Mexico and Carnival's private spot at Isla Tropicale in Roatán, Honduras — so you get classic Western Caribbean beach time along with the child-free onboard vibe.
So what actually makes an SEA cruise different? Think adult-oriented programming throughout: expanded casino access, themed parties, bingo sessions and other activities built for grown-ups rather than families. Carnival launched the format in early 2025, initially on select Carnival Conquest sailings that August and September, and has steadily rolled it out since. By 2026 the lineup included the Carnival Glory, Dream and Paradise, with adults-only itineraries stretching from the Caribbean to Europe.
The commitment runs deep — earlier this year Carnival actually cancelled a full month of Carnival Firenze sailings to clear space for four SEA cruises on the West Coast, running to the Mexican Riviera from Long Beach between October and November 2026.
Who is this for? Anyone who loves the value and convenience of a big-ship Caribbean cruise but winces at the idea of waterslides packed with kids and a lido deck full of strollers. These sailings trade family entertainment for casino time, evening parties and a generally quieter, more grown-up atmosphere, at no extra premium — they're standard Carnival bookings, just restricted to guests 21 and older. If you're tempted, note the booking window: the new 2027 sailings are open through October 16, 2026, and given the demand that prompted them, the popular cabin categories will likely fill early.
Practically speaking, both sailings are easy add-ons to a US trip: Tampa and Galveston are both drive-to homeports for millions of Americans, and both itineraries hit two of the most reliable Western Caribbean stops — Cozumel for diving and tacos, Roatán for snorkelling on the reef.
