Dubai is once again paying visitors to linger — in loyalty points, at least. Emirates Skywards has relaunched its Mile-A-Minute promotion, which hands international travellers one bonus Mile for every minute they spend in the city, capped at 7,200 Miles. That cap equals exactly five days on the ground, so a long weekend or a proper holiday both work; anything shorter still racks up points fast. A one-day stopover earns around 1,440 Miles, a three-day trip about 4,320.
The rules are worth reading carefully. You need to be an Emirates Skywards member living outside the UAE, with a return journey booked from overseas. Registration is required, and you have to book an eligible return flight with Emirates or flydubai between October 21 and November 5, 2026, for travel taking place between October 21 and December 13, 2026. The window matters if you're eyeing the festive period — book by early November or you miss out. Any cabin class and any fare type qualifies, though your stay must last at least 24 hours and no more than 30 days. Miles are calculated on scheduled arrival and departure times and credited automatically, so there's no claim to chase.
The earning doesn't stop at the airport. During your stay you can stack extra Miles at Atlantis The Palm, at the Dubai Mall, and on desert safaris and sightseeing tours run by Arabian Adventures. The Skywards Everyday app adds another layer, letting members earn on everyday spending at participating restaurants, shops and lifestyle venues across the UAE — handy if you're the type to turn a holiday into a points-harvesting exercise.
As for spending the haul, Emirates Skywards Miles work on Emirates and flydubai flights, cabin upgrades, hotel stays and experiences. There's also a Cash + Miles option that shaves money off a future booking if you'd rather not save up for a full redemption.
For travellers, the timing is genuinely good. Late October to mid-December is when Dubai's brutal summer heat breaks and the outdoor season begins — rooftop bars, beach days, desert trips and the busy events calendar all come back to life. If you were already considering a Dubai trip in that stretch, this is effectively free money for a trip you were taking anyway. The main catch is the short booking window, so anyone tempted should register early and get the flights locked in before November 5. Membership is free to join if you're not already in the programme.
