Changi Airport and Jewel have gone full Pokémon. The airport has teamed up with the franchise for PokéXciting!, an Asia tour marking Pokémon's 30th anniversary, running from now until 3 January 2027 across Terminals 1-4 and Jewel — and it's free to enter, though a few experiences need registration or booking.

The headline act is the First Partner Pokémon Parade, making its Asia debut at Jewel's Forest Valley on 7 and 8 November 2026. All 27 first partner Pokémon from the nine game generations — Charmander, Squirtle and friends — will march alongside two Pikachu, with sessions at 3pm and 6pm daily. Entry is free but capped; wristbands go out two hours before each show on a first-come basis, so arrive early. Even if you miss it, Forest Valley has more than 30 themed installations split into four zones (Eevee Evolutions, Snorlax, Mewtwo and Pikachu), including a giant Pikachu that's prime photo material.

There's more happening through the run. A free Pokémon TCG Quiz Rally spans Basement 1 to Level 5 of Jewel — complete it and redeem a 30th anniversary postcard at the B1 Atrium counter (11am-10pm daily). The Pokémon Experience Lounge at T3 Departure Hall near Check-in Row 11 offers free video games and trading card tutorials, with stickers and TCG packs as rewards; book ahead via the Changi App since capacity is tight. On 7 and 8 December 2026, Pikachu dances to EDM in a special night show at T3, sessions at 4.30pm and 7.30pm, again free but capacity-limited. Families with kids get free colouring, stickers and all-day animation screenings at ST3PS in T3 Basement 2 on 7-8 November.

Shoppers have plenty to chase too. Pop-up stores at T3 Basement 2 and Level 2, T2 Level 2 and T4 Level 2 sell anniversary merch — T-shirts from $20, a press-and-pop Pyokopunyu toy at $25.90, plus TCG booster packs and a name-plate customisation corner from $10. A limited-edition Pikachu bag charm drops exclusively at Pokémon Center Singapore on 7-8 November, while stocks last. Spend $60 in a single receipt anywhere across the airport, Jewel or iShopChangi and you can buy exclusive premiums: a travel blanket ($9.90), insulated tumbler ($18.90), anniversary plushies ($18.90), or cabin and check-in luggage ($52.90 and $74.90). Mastercard holders get an extra cap or Poké Ball Bag purchase.

Why does this matter to travellers? Even if you're just transiting, the activations are scattered through public and transit areas of all four terminals, plus horticultural displays and photo spots — a Charizard backdrop at Jewel, Pikachu banners at T3 — meaning a layover at Changi between now and early January 2027 doubles as a free Pokémon scavenger hunt. It's an easy win for families flying through Singapore, and collectors may find the pop-up stock worth planning a trip around.
