The Chase Sapphire Reserve, the card that reshaped premium travel rewards when it launched in 2016, is marking its tenth birthday by giving cardholders extra value — including a shot at a genuinely huge points haul.

The headline prize is a contest: nine finalists will each receive 500,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points, while one grand-prize winner takes 5.5 million points. To enter, cardmembers post about their favourite trip taken since 2016, with the aim of recreating it on Chase's dime. Ten entries advance to a public vote. Using The Points Guy's September 2026 valuations, the top prize works out at roughly $112,750 in travel value, with each runner-up prize worth about $10,250.

There's also a batch of limited-time travel credits, all requiring activation and direct payment with the merchant — bookings through Chase Travel don't count. The offers: $125 back on an IHG stay of $500 or more (paid by 16 October); $250 back on a $1,000 stay at Miraval or Alila properties (by 14 December); a full $200 back on a JSX semiprivate flight of just $200 (by 14 December); $125 back on a $500 Sixt car rental (by 14 December); and $350 back on a $1,500 Wander vacation home rental (by 14 December). Note the Sixt offer is only open to those who held the card before 25 August 2026, and the IHG credit can't be stacked with the card's separate $250 Chase Travel hotel credit for the same booking, since that one requires booking via Chase Travel.

The change with real staying power is the DoorDash perk. From 1 October, the existing $5 monthly restaurant credit jumps to $15 and becomes usable on all DoorDash orders, not just restaurants. Stacked with the card's existing DashPass membership and its two $10 monthly grocery-and-retail promos, eligible cardholders can pull up to $35 of DoorDash value a month — roughly $420 a year, a $120 annual improvement over the current setup. That puts it on par with the Uber Cash benefit on the Amex Platinum.

If you hold the Sapphire Reserve, the travel credits are only worth activating if you already have matching plans — a JSX flight or Sixt rental effectively free is a nice win if it fits your itinerary. The DoorDash bump, though, benefits everyone with the card and outlasts the anniversary promotions.
