One of London's biggest hotels is betting big on family travel. The Hilton London Metropole has confirmed a multimillion-pound refurbishment of its West Wing, which will bring 363 redesigned bedrooms back into service from November 2026. Work is already underway, with floors being refitted one at a time so the hotel — a vast convention and events hub near Edgware Road — can keep trading throughout.
The headline act is the Four Queen Bed Family Connecting Room. It links two adjoining dual-queen rooms into a single space sleeping up to eight, and the hotel plans to offer five of these configurations once the project wraps. That is a genuinely rare setup in central London, where a family of six or more usually has to book multiple separate rooms at multiple rates.
The rest of the new room mix is built around flexibility. Dual Queen Superior Rooms sleep four, with sofa-bed versions stretching to five, while King Superior Rooms, Accessible Queen Rooms, a King Studio Suite and a Three-Bedroom Penthouse Suite round out the range. The hotel says the layouts are aimed squarely at multi-generational groups and international families, but also at business travellers, short-break guests and anyone staying in the capital for an extended stretch.

London hotel rooms skew small and expensive, so finding one property that can genuinely sleep a family of eight under one booking is worth knowing about ahead of the 2026 reopening.
