Missed the last one? You're in luck. This Is Michael, the live tribute show built around the music of Michael Jackson, is heading back to Abu Dhabi after its previous UAE date completely sold out.
The new show lands at Etihad Arena on Yas Island on Saturday, January 30, 2027. The production's earlier Abu Dhabi performance on August 22, 2026 sold every seat, so this follow-up date is essentially the make-good for everyone who couldn't get tickets first time round.
At the centre of it all is Lenny Jay, the performer who steps into the role of the King of Pop. The setlist leans on the songs that made Jackson a global phenomenon — Billie Jean, Thriller, Beat It and Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough among them — delivered with a full-scale stage production in a proper arena setting.
The date is presented by Live Nation Middle East, working with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and Miral, the company behind much of Yas Island's entertainment lineup.
Ticket details worth diarising: general sale opens Monday, November 2 at 12pm. Mastercard cardholders get a head start with presale access from Friday, October 30, also at 12pm. Given how the last date went, waiting for general sale is a gamble — if you have the right card in your wallet, use it.
Why should a traveller care? Because this is a decent excuse to build a weekend in Abu Dhabi around a big night out. Etihad Arena sits on Yas Island, which packs in theme parks, a Formula 1 circuit, beaches and hotels within a short drive of each other. A January date means escaping European winter for something around 24°C, and pairing the show with a few days in the UAE capital — or a quick hop to Dubai, about 90 minutes away — makes for an easy long-weekend trip.
