A new festival is landing in Dubai with a fairly simple pitch: spend a weekend slowing down. Arabian Soul Fest debuts at Zabeel Park on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November, running each day from midday until 10pm, and tickets start from Dhs75 via platinumlist.net.

The setup is bigger than your average yoga-in-the-park affair. Organisers have laid out 10 arenas hosting more than 100 experiences, covering movement, mindfulness, live music, creative workshops and food. It is deliberately open to all comers — families, friend groups or people flying solo who want a self-care day out.

On the wellness side, expect a mix of high-energy workout sessions alongside calmer fare: guided meditation, breathwork and holistic workshops. There is also a recovery corner that reads like a sports-science lab — ice bath cold plunges, red-light therapy for skin health and compression therapy to speed up muscle recovery. If you have ever wanted to try a cold plunge with professionals on hand, this is a low-stakes way in.

Music gets its own lane too. A conscious music stage hosts live sets, mindful listening sessions promise a more deliberate take on the usual festival soundscape, and an immersive dance floor takes over the evening hours. So while the daytime leans restorative, the event stretches well into the night.

Beyond the mat and the stage, there is a creative and shopping programme: hands-on art workshops using mixed materials, plus an outdoor souk-style marketplace featuring conscious brands, boutique artisans and interactive booths where makers explain their craft. Food comes from organic stations, and families are explicitly catered for with dedicated children's arenas — a rarity at wellness events, which often skew adult-only.

Why should a traveller care? If you are in Dubai in mid-November, this lands squarely in the season's sweet spot, when the brutal summer heat has finally broken and outdoor events return in force. Zabeel Park itself is a handy venue — centrally located, metro-accessible via Al Jafiliya station, and home to the Dubai Frame if you fancy pairing the festival with a bit of sightseeing. At Dhs75 for entry, it also undercuts a lot of the city's ticketed entertainment, and the family zones make it a realistic day out with kids rather than a childcare headache.

It is worth noting the festival taps into a broader trend: wellness tourism is booming in the Gulf, and Dubai in particular has been stacking its winter calendar with fitness and mindful-living events alongside the usual shopping festivals and concerts. Arabian Soul Fest is a new addition to that line-up, so first editions can be hit or miss — but with 100-plus sessions across two days, the odds of finding something that resonates are decent.

Plan for crowds in the late afternoon and evening, when the dance floor and live sets kick in, and go earlier if meditation and workshops are your priority. Comfortable shoes, a refillable water bottle and an open mind should just about cover it.
