Le Gavroche closed its doors in London in early 2024, but the legendary restaurant lives on at sea — and now Cunard has confirmed its Culinary Residencies with Michel Roux will run through 2027 and 2028.

Five exclusive sailings are on the schedule, all on Queen Anne and all heading for Norway and northern Europe: seven-night Norway and Norwegian fjords voyages in May, August and September 2027, followed by a Norway and Denmark sailing in May 2028 and a return to the fjords in June 2028.

The centrepiece is Le Gavroche dining in Queen Anne's Sir Samuels restaurant, where a specially curated tasting menu from Roux is capped at just 50 covers a night. The price is $250 (about £189) per person — steep, but comparable to what a comparable tasting menu in London would set you back, and with better scenery outside the window.

It's not just dinner. The residencies also include a three-course gala menu served across all main dining rooms, special seafood dishes in the Carinthia Lounge, and live cooking demonstrations, talks and Q&A sessions with Roux himself. A nice touch for restaurant nostalgics: Ursula and Silvia Perberschlager, the twin sisters who ran front-of-house at Le Gavroche for more than two decades, will be on board to greet guests.

Since 2024 there have been 12 Le Gavroche at Sea residencies across Cunard's fleet, spread between Queen Mary 2 and Queen Anne. But there's a deadline attached to this latest round: Queen Anne is due to transfer to sister brand P&O Cruises in May 2029, so these 2027 and 2028 sailings could be your last chance to eat Le Gavroche's food in this setting.

Why it matters: for anyone who mourned the loss of Le Gavroche — the first restaurant in Britain to win three Michelin stars — this is the only place on earth its cuisine is still served in anything like the original form. And if fjord cruising was already on your list, pairing it with a Roux tasting menu and front-row access to one of the UK's great chefs makes a compelling case for booking the 2027 season early, given the small nightly guest count.
