A fresh video doing the rounds on social media shows two Frontier Airlines passengers trading punches over the seatbacks while everyone else is still standing up to leave the aircraft. Filmed and posted by @bigplayray__ with the breezy caption "We got action #frontierairlines," the clip shows one man shedding his hoodie mid-fight — revealing a white t-shirt underneath — and carrying right on swinging. According to the person who filmed it, things kicked off when one passenger shoved the other as the queue to exit formed, and it took several bystanders reaching in to pull the pair apart. The man on the losing end is mostly hidden behind the seats for the duration.
The weird part is how familiar this all is. Frontier arrivals have produced a string of similar scenes. On the Philadelphia–Miami route in July 2021, a passenger reportedly attacked another man who was taking too long to grab his bag from the overhead bin; crew and fellow travellers broke it up, and the man who was attacked ultimately chose not to press charges. That same year, a Frontier arrival in Minneapolis saw multiple fights spill from the aircraft into the terminal, with airport officials reporting broken chairs and thrown stanchions — and police focusing on crowd control rather than arrests.
It isn't only Frontier. A Spirit Airlines passenger famously climbed clean over the person in the aisle seat after landing because he couldn't wait to stand up, then found himself standing awkwardly in an aisle that went nowhere. Which underlines the obvious: getting up a few seconds earlier after landing gets you absolutely nothing.
The comment sections, as ever, are the best part of the story. "They are flight attendants, not fight attendants" is doing a lot of work, and one observer summed up the sensible traveller's position perfectly: settle it outside if you must, but not onboard — "I NEED MY TRAVEL POINTS."
For holidaymakers, the takeaway is less about the airline than about the moment. Deplaning is a pressure-cooker minute: everyone's stiff, tired and jostling for overhead bins. Let the shove go, wait your turn, and you'll keep your itinerary — and your face — intact. And if you're booking ultra-low-cost carriers, know that the budget fare comes with fewer buffers: less onboard service, tighter seats and, lately, a certain reputation. Keep your expectations, and your elbows, to yourself.
