Grace Bay is about to get a new address for points collectors. The Andaz Turks & Caicos at Grace Bay — Hyatt's first hotel in the country and the brand's first Caribbean outpost — is now taking reservations for stays from 1 April 2027, and the property details have finally firmed up.

The resort sits on 5.5 acres directly on Grace Bay, widely considered one of the finest stretches of sand in the Caribbean. The hotel side stays boutique at just 59 rooms, alongside 73 branded residences. Amenities cover the family-and-couples essentials: three outdoor pools, a spa, a kids club, fitness centre, and tennis and pickleball courts.

Food and drink comes via four outlets. Tamarà is the all-day indoor-outdoor oceanfront restaurant, mixing bistro classics with Caribbean flavours. Baie is a two-level poolside bar and lounge, Palmette handles coffee and snacks, and a lobby bar covers cocktails and light bites. Runa Spa & Wellness clocks in at roughly 7,000 square feet with five treatment rooms, a sauna and a cold plunge.

It's been a long road. The project was announced back in 2018 with a 2021 opening date, and the timeline has slipped about six years — a familiar story for hotel construction. Availability is currently loaded from April through November 2027, so peak winter season isn't bookable yet.

Pricing is serious Grace Bay territory. Cash rates start around $900-1,300 per night including service charge but excluding taxes. On points, it's a Category 8 World of Hyatt property, meaning 35,000-75,000 points per night, with most dates currently showing 35,000, 45,000 or 55,000 — so redemption value swings a lot depending on the date. Cash bookers should look at Hyatt Privé, which adds upgrades, breakfast and a hotel credit.

Why does this matter? Turks & Caicos has historically been thin on points-friendly hotels, despite being an easy hop from the US East Coast. The Ritz-Carlton Turks & Caicos opened on Grace Bay a few years back with a great location but a mixed reputation. Meanwhile the wider country is filling out: Salterra, a Marriott Luxury Collection property, opened on quieter South Caicos in 2025, joining the Small Luxury Hotels-affiliated Sailrock Resort, and a Waldorf Astoria is slated for Dellis Cay in 2028 — a 25-minute boat ride from Providenciales, though its timeline deserves scepticism.

One honest caveat: Grace Bay itself has changed. Large concrete developments now line parts of the beach, and some of the island's old charm has gone — even if the water is as pretty as ever. The Andaz's smaller scale may be a selling point for travellers who want a Grace Bay address without the tower-block feel. For Hyatt loyalists with a points balance to burn and a Caribbean trip in the works, this is now one of the region's few realistic luxury redemptions.
