Bangkok shoppers don't need a boarding pass to get a hit of Italy this month. Central Chidlom has been decked out for Central Dolce Italia 2026, the fourth edition of the department store's Italian lifestyle celebration, running until 24 November.

This year's theme is "Architecture In Style", and it shows. The in-store decor leans on arches, patterns and perspectives borrowed from Italian design, turning the mall into something closer to a gallery than a retail floor.

The campaign gathers Italian brands across five categories: fashion, eyewear, beauty, homeware and small appliances. There are also five newcomers making their campaign debut. Okkia brings contemporary eyewear; Inzu makes bags around a "wearable architecture" concept; Loristella focuses on refined Italian leather goods; Gassa D'Amante covers men's swimwear and beach accessories; and Marni Kids extends the fashion house to childrenswear.

There's something in it for visitors too, beyond browsing. Spend 7,000 baht at participating brands and you'll receive a beach towel; hit 10,000 and you get a scarf. Both are designed exclusively for the campaign by Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, Milan's respected art and design school, so they're more keepsake than freebie. For a smaller outlay, 1,500 baht gets you into a tote-bag workshop on 14 November using limited-edition Dolce Italia patterns.

The beauty side is free, though book ahead. Armani Beauty runs makeup classes every Saturday, while Parad Beauty and Valentino Beauty offer touch-up services Friday to Sunday. On 21 November, the group Fivera performs live Italian music for anyone who wants to round off an afternoon of shopping with some atmosphere.

If you're travelling through Bangkok in November, it's a convenient add-on: Central Chidlom sits right on the BTS Skytrain line in the city centre, and the campaign doubles as a one-stop way to see new Italian brands that haven't reached other markets yet. The gift-tier thresholds are low by luxury standards, so even a modest purchase can walk away with something designed by a Milanese art school. Just plan around the dates — the workshops and music are one-offs, and the whole thing wraps up on 24 November.
