easyJet has just announced a bumper batch of 18 new routes from its UK bases for next summer, and the details are worth a look if you're planning where to fly in 2027. Notably, only a handful of the additions come out of London — the bulk serve regional airports across England and Scotland, a clear signal that the airline is chasing demand outside the capital.

Scotland does especially well, picking up six of the 18 routes. Aberdeen gets two: Barcelona from 31 March and Palma de Mallorca from 3 May. Edinburgh lands four, starting with weekly flights to Tivat in Montenegro and Hamburg in Germany on 29 March, followed a day later by Bilbao in northern Spain and Rome Fiumicino.

Across England, most of the new services come from airports outside London. Liverpool John Lennon gains two Spanish routes — Girona from 28 March and Murcia from 3 May. Birmingham gets flights to Milan Malpensa from 29 March and Tivat from 3 May. Bristol will connect to Burgas on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast from 28 May and to Montpellier in the south of France from 1 July. Newcastle picks up a weekly Larnaca service in Cyprus from 31 March, while Manchester gets a route to Bastia in Corsica starting 3 July.

London still sees some love. Gatwick, easyJet's biggest UK base with nearly 6,000 departures this September, gets Girona from 3 June — starting twice weekly, then ramping up to three a week from 29 June for the peak — plus a route to Ajaccio in Corsica from 30 June. Southend launches flights to Rhodes from 27 April, and Luton adds Thessaloniki in Greece from 1 May.

Spain is the obvious theme here: Girona appears three times across the network, and it's a first for easyJet, alongside Murcia and the continuing pull of the islands. But the more interesting pattern is the spread of slightly less expected destinations — Tivat on Montenegro's Adriatic coast, Bastia and Ajaccio in Corsica, Burgas in Bulgaria. Those are the routes where early bookings could mean discovering a spot before the crowds catch on.

Most of the new routes run twice a week, with some weekly services, so flexibility matters if you're building a trip around one of them. easyJet's UK country manager Kevin Doyle framed the expansion as covering everything from beach holidays to city breaks — and with Rome, Milan, Hamburg and Barcelona all in the mix, there's genuinely something for both short-break travellers and sun-seekers.

If you're based in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Newcastle or Manchester, this is your cue to check your local airport's summer schedule before booking onward trains to London. Fares on newly launched routes often start low, and easyJet will be pushing package holidays alongside the flights.
