Punggol, the fast-growing corner of Singapore's north-east, has picked up another new amenity: the ActiveSG Punggol Sport Centre, a six-storey sports complex now in soft launch ahead of its official opening on 22nd November 2026. It's part of the national Sports Facilities Master Plan under Vision 2030, and even though it's not fully finished, most of it is already bookable through the ActiveSG website using a Singpass login — and any leftover ActiveSG credits you've been sitting on.

Getting there is simple. Sam Kee LRT on the Punggol West Loop is a three-minute walk away, buses 84W, 117, 117M, 382 and 382G stop right outside at Opp One Punggol, and there's on-site parking with overflow at One Punggol. Walking from Punggol MRT takes about ten minutes, though construction along Punggol Place makes public transport the smarter option for now.

The headline attraction is on Level 1: a 50-metre infinity pool overlooking Punggol Waterway Park — Singapore's answer to the Marina Bay Sands rooftop, minus the skyline and the cocktail prices. The swimming complex also has a sheltered 8-lane pool, an outdoor lap pool and a kids' water play area with slides and tunnels. It's not open yet; the pools, futsal courts and football stadium all come online in November 2026.

What you can use today is substantial. Level 2 holds one of the largest gyms on the island, with cardio machines facing the waterfront, a turf functional zone for sled pushes and box jumps, power racks, a Smith machine and a wide spread of machines and free weights. Free gym entry runs until 31st October 2026, which is a generous nudge to check it out.

Level 3 is court central: six pickleball courts and three tennis courts in a sheltered hall, two volleyball courts and a basketball court in the Team Sport Hall, and 13 badminton courts indoors — with peak-hour slots reportedly still available for booking. Higher up, two futsal courts with safety netting and a breeze await their November opening, while the top-floor archery field is reserved for Team Singapore athletes. Down in Basement 1, families get four slides (two dropping from Level 1 — wear long pants), a small water play area, a climbing slope and four table tennis tables.

The football stadium is arguably the boldest piece of the whole project: 5,000 seats and floodlights built to international standards, putting it in the same league as Our Tampines Hub and hinting at future Singapore Premier League fixtures.

For travellers, this isn't a fly-across-the-world attraction, but if you're staying in the north-east, house-sitting in Punggol or just want a cheap, well-equipped workout or a badminton session on a long Singapore stopover, it's one of the best-value facilities in the country — and the infinity pool alone will be worth timing a visit for once it opens.
