Sandals is bringing three of its Jamaican all-inclusives back into service before the year is out, and one of them is getting a full rebrand. Sandals South Coast opens first on November 18, 2026, while Sandals Montego Bay and the renamed Sandals Caribbean Cay — formerly Sandals Royal Caribbean — both return on December 18. Reservations are open for all three now.
South Coast is the pick if seclusion is the goal. Set on Jamaica's quieter southern shore, with mountains behind and a long beach in front, the resort has had a refresh centred on its waterfront pool area, plus new dining options and extra lounging spaces. It's also the only one of the trio back in time for a late-November escape ahead of Thanksgiving.
Sandals Montego Bay carries the most history — it's where the Sandals story started — and its December 18 return comes with a redesigned pool and changes to dining and entertainment. The most talked-about additions are culinary: Buccan, a waterfront open-flame cooking concept, and the Bay Roc Rum Club, a nod to the property's earlier life as the Bay Roc Hotel & Villas. Between jerk smoke and rum pours, the new look leans hard into its Jamaican setting, just weeks before Christmas.
The name change is the headline grabber. Sandals Royal Caribbean is now Sandals Caribbean Cay, a shift that puts its biggest asset front and centre: a private offshore island a short boat ride away. Guests get two beach settings in one stay — breakfast at the main resort, then a quick crossing for an afternoon on the cay, no separate excursion required. The reopening brings upgraded rooms, new restaurants and a revamped island scene. Anyone who has stayed before should search under the new name when booking, as the old one is being retired.
For travellers, the timing matters as much as the makeovers. December is peak season in Jamaica, and three major adults-only all-inclusives coming back online adds meaningful room inventory right when demand spikes. Each property suits a different style of trip: South Coast for long quiet beach walks, Montego Bay for a classic beachfront stay close to the airport, and Caribbean Cay for that castaway-island novelty without leaving the resort. Bookable now, with the full trio operational from December 18 — a solid option for a last-minute winter sun plan or an early 2027 booking.
