Dubai's weather is finally turning, and the city's weekend listings for October 2 to 4 read like a to-do list for anyone who's been hiding from the summer heat. There's a lot happening across Business Bay, Bluewaters, Al Quoz and Jumeirah, and a fair bit of it is new.
Food leads the way. LOOP in Business Bay has launched an all-day Mediterranean and Turkish breakfast — menemen, grilled halloumi, gözleme, honeycomb with clotted cream — and since it's open around the clock, breakfast at midnight is technically allowed. Over on Sheikh Zayed Road, Bayroot Deli is serving Lebanese comfort food until 6am daily if the shawarma craving strikes late. For something more scenic, Shimmers has reopened for the season on the sand at Jumeirah Mina Al Salam, with Burj Al Arab views and a new three-course Aegean Pause lunch. Nobu's outpost at One Za'abeel, high above the city with floor-to-ceiling windows, is running DJ nights alongside its Japanese-Peruvian menu.
Drinks are cheap-ish if you time it right: SALVAJE in Downtown is running a Ritual Hour Thursday to Sunday, 7pm to 9pm, with ten cocktails at Dhs45 each.
Beach day, sorted. La Cantine Beach on Bluewaters offers two pools (one adults-only), a private beach and an outdoor gym — Dhs250 on weekdays, fully redeemable on food and drink, or Dhs300 at weekends with half redeemable. If you'd rather earn your beach time, there are two yoga options: a Saturday vinyasa at Banyan Tree Dubai with breakfast at Japanese tea house Tocha plus all-day pool and beach access for Dhs370, or Sole Mio's free-for-customers Sunday sessions at Kite Beach (Dhs60 otherwise, with proceeds funding twice-weekly microplastic cleanups).
For something different, Paint & Swap returns to riina in Meadows Village — ten minutes on a pre-sketched canvas before passing it on, ending with a collaborative artwork, canapés and a drink for Dhs290. And parents get a new option: NESTT opens in Al Quoz on October 4, combining a Euro-Mediterranean restaurant, kids' play zones for under-eights, coworking space and activity rooms across two floors, with play from Dhs110.
The weekend rounds out with self-care at We Nails Beauty Salon in Dubai Marina — nails, blow-dries, lashes and massages from 10am to 9pm daily.
Why it matters: early October is when Dubai's outdoor season kicks off, and these listings are a good snapshot of what the city does well — beach clubs, big breakfasts and views. Locals and short-break visitors alike will find plenty here to fill three days.
