If you run a small business in the US or Canada and fly American Airlines with any regularity, there's a quietly lucrative sign-up offer on the table. AAdvantage Business, American's free rewards program for companies, is currently giving new members 15,000 AAdvantage bonus miles just for enrolling with the promotion code GET15K. The deal runs through October 31, 2026, and the miles post within six to eight weeks of enrollment. That's a 50% bump on the previous offer, which topped out at 10,000 miles.
The best part: no flights or spending are needed to earn the bonus itself. Eligibility is straightforward, too. You need a business registered in the United States or Canada with a Federal Employer Identification Number (or a Canadian Business Number), and even one-person operations qualify. Miles accrue to the business account, but they can be shared out to any company member and redeemed through personal AAdvantage accounts.
There is one catch when it comes time to actually use those rewards. To redeem from the business account, you must meet an annual activity threshold: either five unique travellers crediting flights to the account with combined flight revenue of at least $5,000 in a calendar year, or holding the Citi / AAdvantage Business World Elite Mastercard, which waives the minimum entirely.
That credit card is where the real double dip comes in. The Citi AAdvantage Business Card carries a $99 annual fee, waived for the first 12 months, and frequently offers a solid welcome bonus of its own. The recommended sequence: enrol in AAdvantage Business first with the GET15K code, then apply for the card and let the two accounts link automatically via your AAdvantage number. That way you collect the program bonus and the card welcome bonus without conflict. Signing up in the wrong order could mean the accounts don't connect properly, so the sequence matters.
Even for freelancers and side-hustlers, the maths is hard to argue with. Fifteen thousand miles is enough for a domestic round trip in many cases, and the program itself adds a bonus Loyalty Point and mile per eligible dollar of flight spend on top of what individual travellers already earn. That accelerates progress toward AAdvantage status for anyone booking work travel through their own business. With no annual fee on the program itself and a deadline more than a year out, there's little downside for eligible businesses — the main decision is whether to stop at the free bonus or add the credit card to unlock redemptions from day one.
