Basketball fans in Florida are getting an easier way to skip the I-95 grind this season. Brightline has confirmed the return of its Buzzer Beater service for the 2026-27 Miami HEAT season — special trains timed to home games at Kaseya Center in downtown Miami.
The concept is simple: Brightline runs extra, game-aligned departures from its stations in Orlando, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale and Aventura, all feeding into MiamiCentral. From there it's roughly a 15-minute walk to the arena, so you can leave the car behind and forget about hunting for (and paying for) downtown parking on a game night.
The service kicks off with the HEAT's season opener on October 21, when Miami hosts the Minnesota Timberwolves at 7:30 p.m. Buzzer Beater trains then run for home games throughout the regular season, though exact schedules depend on availability and the game calendar.
On board, it's a proper pre-game. Snacks and drinks are available to buy, and anyone booking PREMIUM gets wider seats, extra legroom, complimentary food and drinks, plus access to Brightline's station lounges — a civilised way to build the evening whether you're heading to the tip-off with friends or treating the family.
Finding the right train is easy. On Brightline's website, look for the Buzzer Beater icon marking the designated game-night departures. There you can check outbound and return times — handy since the return leg is what usually makes or breaks a sports day trip — and compare fares, including group savings if you're bringing a crew of fellow fans.
For travellers, this doubles as a neat Florida itinerary hack. The Brightline corridor links some of the state's biggest visitor hubs, so a trip built around a HEAT game can easily stretch into a weekend: breakfast in West Palm Beach, an afternoon in Fort Lauderdale, then an evening courtside in Miami — all without touching a steering wheel. It's also a genuinely useful option for Orlando visitors who want a big-city sports night as part of a theme-park holiday.
Just keep an eye on the fine print: the trains operate subject to schedule and availability, so booking ahead for popular matchups — and confirming the late return departure — is the smart play. If you'd rather upgrade, PREMIUM fares are worth considering for the lounge access alone if you're arriving early with luggage or time to kill.
Whether you're a die-hard HEAT fan in Boca Raton or a visitor stitching a game into a Florida trip, Buzzer Beater takes the most annoying part of an arena night — the traffic and parking — out of the equation entirely.
