Capital One has rolled out a limited-time welcome offer on its premium Venture X Business card to mark the card's third anniversary, and it's the largest bonus the product has ever carried. The catch: you'll need deep spending power to unlock all of it.

The offer pays out in stages. You get 150,000 bonus miles after spending $40,000 in the first four months, and another 150,000 miles once total spending hits $120,000 in that same window. Hitting the full $120,000 also unlocks an extra $1,000 travel credit through Capital One Business Travel (usable within 12 months), on top of the card's standard $300 annual travel credit — so up to $1,300 in credits overall.

Is the effort worth it? If you value Capital One miles at 1.7 cents each, 300,000 miles comes out to roughly $5,100, and adding the incremental credit pushes the haul to around $6,100. But the maths gets better: the card earns at least 2x miles on everything, so $120,000 of spend generates a minimum of 540,000 miles total — an effective 4.5x return per dollar, before counting any credits. Miles transfer to a wide range of airline and hotel partners or can be redeemed against travel purchases.

Eligibility rules are relatively relaxed compared with other issuers. You're out of luck only if you already hold the Venture X Business, previously had the Spark Travel Elite (its brief former branding), or currently hold the Spark Cash Plus. Having the personal Venture X doesn't block you, and the cheaper Venture Business bonus counts separately — meaning you could stack both offers for up to 400,000 bonus miles plus credits.

On the premium card's ongoing value: the $395 annual fee is offset by the $300 travel credit and 10,000 anniversary bonus miles, leaving 2x earning on all purchases, no foreign transaction fees, no preset spending limit, Priority Pass lounge access plus entry to Capital One Lounges and Landings, and a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit every four years.

If the fee or spend requirement is too steep, the standard Capital Venture Business charges $95 a year and offers 100,000 miles after $10,000 of spend in three months, plus 2x miles, a $50 travel credit, a $50 advertising/software credit and the same Global Entry perk. Frequent-flyer-heavy businesses will likely find the Venture X Business pays for itself; lighter spenders may prefer the entry-level version.
