Singapore has a new way to burn 90 minutes of pure fun. Chalkak Collective opened on 29 October 2026 as Asia's first photobooth museum, a four-station self-portrait playground about eight minutes' walk from Marymount MRT. Admission is $59 per person, and that covers unlimited photo-taking across all studios plus crafting materials for personalised souvenirs. Kids under 10 join for $20 each, capped at three per booking with at least one adult.

The concept is simple: instead of one cramped mall booth and a single 4-cut strip, you get an hour and a half to rotate through four very different studios.

The Vintage Press Studio turns you into an old newspaper headline. Monochrome lighting and print treatments — not digital filters — give the photos a genuinely archival look, and there are five formats to try, including The Newspaper, Vintage Strip and a Museum Receipt. Framed photos, vintage posters and record shelves make the space itself a decent backdrop. Budget 20-25 minutes here.

The Cutesy DIY Bar is where the photos become keepsakes. With stickers, frames and cutting tools included in the ticket price, you can make Purikura prints, trading cards, an Explorer ID, meme sheets or matching keychains — K-pop card energy fully encouraged. This one eats the most time, around 35-45 minutes, so pace yourself against the session clock.

The K-Photo Lab delivers the classic Korean-style strip experience: a roomy booth for up to six people, wide-angle camera, bench and the trademark countdown that forces frantic pose changes. Formats include Mall 4-Cut, XL Strip, Museum Strip and a Halloween Strip, with two printed copies standard.

The most grown-up of the four is the Self Portrait Atelier — a minimalist studio with a seamless white backdrop, softbox lighting and a wired remote shutter. No countdown here; a monitor shows your shots as you take them, so you can refine until satisfied. It suits anyone wanting a polished profile picture or even a passport photo that doesn't look like a mugshot. Four formats, including Magazine Cover and ID Photo, and room for up to four people.

Entry comes with a nice extra: a navy Chalkak Collective Passport styled like a real travel document. You collect stamps and visas as you work through the stations, and a digital version tied to your membership stores all your high-resolution photos for later download.

Practically speaking, get there via Marymount MRT (Exit B) and an eight-minute walk to the Halcyon Building, or buses 54, 410, 851 and 588 to Opp Marymount Stn, which is closer still.

Who is this for? Friend groups, date nights and anyone whose camera roll needs a refresh — plus families, since the kids' pricing makes it one of the more affordable indoor activities in the area. The 90-minute limit is generous but real, so decide which studios matter most before you start shooting. Either way, it's a fun new entry in Singapore's growing lineup of creative photo studios.
