Early October is when Dubai shakes off its summer quiet, and this week brings a stack of reopening dates and new openings worth timing a trip around.
The big one for many visitors: Dubai Miracle Garden throws open its gates on October 8 for the new season. It's the world's largest natural flower garden, with more than 150 million blooms across 72,000 square metres in Al Barsha South — think heart-shaped archways, flower-covered castles and the famous life-sized Emirates A380 built entirely from plants. Tourist tickets are Dhs100, while UAE residents get discounted rates through the UAE Pass sign-in. Expect it to be busy and very photogenic.
A day earlier, on October 7, Dubai Parks and Resorts comes back to life on Sheikh Zayed Road, with MOTIONGATE Dubai, Real Madrid World, LEGOLAND Dubai Resort and The World of Riverland all reopening. There are two fresh additions at Riverland: a new bowling alley and Lamborghini-branded racing simulators, joining the rollercoasters, movie-themed lands and family rides already there.
Newer on the scene is Kapitol at The Walk in JBR, a games-and-entertainment venue inside the Rixos Premium. Batting cages, GT Motorsport-style racing sims, bowling, interactive mini golf, digital darts, axe throwing, shuffleboard and karaoke run daily from 4pm to 1am, with food and drink to keep you going. Also new: Nayara, a contemporary Levantine restaurant in the lantern-lit Arabian Court of One&Only Royal Mirage on Al Sufouh, open 5pm to 1am, with interiors shaped by Emirati designer Hamda Al Fahim.
Culture and nightlife fans have options too. On October 5, Dubai Opera hosts the Dubai debut of God Saved The Queen, one of the world's better-known Queen tribute acts, fronted by Argentine singer Pablo Padín — expect Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You and Somebody to Love, with tickets from Dhs295. Over at FIVE Jumeirah Village, The Mansion runs its Gatsby-themed Wednesday ladies' night from 9pm, free for women before 1am and Dhs200 for men including three drinks.
If you'd rather do daylight and low-key, adults-only Wet Deck at W Dubai – The Palm offers a swim-up bar, in-water loungers and bookable cabanas, with Dhs150 day passes that include beach access. And for something more family-friendly, Bruno's Biergarten returns to the terrace of the Mövenpick Jumeirah Beach this month — schnitzel, sausages, cold steins and live music, with dogs welcome.
The takeaway: if you've been putting off a Dubai trip until the weather cools, this is the week the city's seasonal calendar properly kicks off. Flower-garden lovers and theme park fans should aim for October 7–8 or later; gig-goers should book Opera seats ahead; and the JBR and Marina strip alone can fill several evenings between Kapitol, Bruno's and the beach clubs.
