Dubai's biggest group yoga session is back, and this year it starts with the sun instead of ending with it. Dubai Yoga, one of the four signature events of the city's annual Dubai Fitness Challenge, takes place on Sunday November 29, 2026, the final day of the month-long fitness programme. The setting is The Gate at DIFC, where thousands of mats will roll out beneath the landmark structure as the skyline lights up at dawn.

The event debuted last year and drew around 3,500 participants, so organisers are expecting another big crowd. Last time it ran at sunset; the 2026 edition shifts to sunrise, which arguably makes better use of that backdrop — and, frankly, of Dubai's weather, given late November mornings are far kinder than midday heat.

It is free to attend, but you need to register in advance at dubaifitnesschallenge.com. Plan for an early alarm: gates open at 5.15am, with live music from 5.55am and a display by Yogasana champions before things get underway. From 6.30am there's a short sound bath, breathwork and warm-up, leading into the main 30-minute sunrise yoga session from 6.45am to 7.15am. If you want to linger, the venue stays open until 8am with music, wellness activations and food and drink stalls.

You don't need any yoga experience — all levels are welcome, and mats are provided, so there's nothing to pack beyond water and sunscreen. During registration you pick one of three zones: family, ladies only or general. Children can take part, making this a realistic early-morning outing for families rather than just fitness regulars.

Dubai Yoga sits within the 10th edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, which runs from Saturday October 31 to Sunday November 29. The citywide initiative encourages everyone to do 30 minutes of activity a day for 30 days, and its other mass-participation events are also free: registration for Dubai Ride is already open, and Dubai Run is expected to open soon. If you're visiting Dubai in November, timing a trip around one of these events is a cheap and memorable way to see the city from a different angle — few experiences beat saluting the sun while the DIFC towers turn gold behind you.

Worth noting for travellers: November is one of the best months to be in Dubai, with warm days, cool evenings and a calendar stacked with events leading into the peak winter season. A 5.15am start might feel brutal on holiday, but you'll be done by 8am with the whole day ahead — ideal before a beach afternoon or a trip to nearby City Walk or the Dubai Mall area, both a short hop from DIFC.
