Hilton's latest bonus points promotion has landed, and the numbers are underwhelming. The offer, branded "More Points to Play," hands out just 1,000 bonus points per stay at most participating properties — which, at a typical valuation of 0.4 cents per Hilton point, works out to roughly $4 of value. Stay a full week at one of the selected higher-tier properties and you'll earn 3,000 points, about $12. And that's per stay, not per night.
The promotion runs for stays between October 15 and December 31, 2026, with checkout required by December 31. You have to register before your first eligible stay, though existing reservations count once you're registered, and award stays booked directly with Hilton qualify too. There's no cap on how many bonus stays you can rack up.
The elevated 3,000-point tier isn't limited to obvious luxury flags like Waldorf Astoria and Conrad. It also covers a grab-bag of properties including Canopy Austin Downtown, the DoubleTree Grand Key in Key West, AutoCamp sites and certain Small Luxury Hotels partnerships. The lesson: check the actual property list before assuming your hotel earns the bigger bonus.
Context makes the modesty clear. Hilton's summer promotion started at 2,000 points per stay and paid 4,000 for stays of four nights or longer. The new offer halves the baseline bonus and pays less than the summer deal on every stay of four nights or more. The only winners are short stays at the selected properties, which tick up from 2,000 to 3,000 points. There's also a two-month dead zone between the summer promo ending on August 15 and this one starting October 15 — a September stay earns nothing extra either way.
Hilton has historically leaned on promotions like these to bring its earning rates in line with Marriott and IHG, and the old standard of double (sometimes triple) points is a distant memory. If you're choosing between two similarly priced Hiltons, this bonus shouldn't tip the scales — a $4 return doesn't justify paying $20 more for one property over another.
Still, registering costs nothing. Even if a fall 2026 Hilton stay isn't on your calendar, plans change, and you won't retroactively register for a stay you forgot about. For award nights you were booking anyway, a few hundred or thousand points back is a small but free sweetener. Just go in with realistic expectations: this is a token perk, not a reason to book.
