If you're booking a Florida trip for 2026 or 2027 on JetBlue, check the route list twice. According to schedule data from Cirium Diio, the airline has axed 19 routes to and from the Sunshine State — 16 domestic and three international — all ending between March and September 2026, with none returning the following year.

Florida is still the backbone of JetBlue's network: the carrier serves ten markets in the state, from Fort Lauderdale and Orlando to smaller spots like Vero Beach and Destin-Fort Walton Beach. In some months, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International has even overtaken New York JFK as JetBlue's busiest airport overall. But that hasn't stopped a big round of pruning.

Several of the domestic cuts were obvious seasonal bets that didn't pay off — the spring-break routes from Fort Lauderdale to Bozeman, Denver, Portland, Reno and Salt Lake City operated only a handful of flights and won't be back. Others are more surprising for travellers: the airline has dropped Manchester from its network entirely (routes to Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers and Orlando all end), abandoned Daytona Beach for the second time — it flew there from 2016 to 2019, returned in December 2025, and quit again less than a year later — and pulled JFK-Vero Beach after just nine months of service. That Vero Beach route ran at a 59.5% load factor, so the writing was on the wall.

The three international losses hurt too: Fort Lauderdale to Grand Cayman, Tampa to Punta Cana and Orlando to San José, Costa Rica are all gone by July. The Costa Rica route had been flying since 2009 and carried roughly 1.5 million round-trip passengers over its life, but its load factor had slipped to 77.6% in the final year.

Why should holidaymakers care? If you live in New England, the tristate area or a mountain/ski city and rely on JetBlue nonstops to Florida, you may now need a connection — or another airline. Travellers heading to Daytona Beach or Vero Beach lose their only JetBlue access entirely, and anyone flying Orlando-San José will find fewer nonstop options. On the flip side, if you're flying through Fort Lauderdale, JetBlue's presence there is only getting bigger, so fares and flight choices in that hub should stay competitive. The general lesson for 2026: routes JetBlue launched recently are the ones most at risk, so re-confirm your flight exists before you lock in hotels.
