Booking a rail adventure from London to a European city without a flight has always involved juggling tabs. Now European Sleeper, the Dutch-Belgian night train operator, has plugged Eurostar tickets directly into its own booking site, so you can buy the whole trip — Channel crossing and couchette — in one go.

The move comes via a partnership with Choo-Choo, a cross-border rail ticketing platform. Search on europeansleeper.eu and you'll see compatible Eurostar connections to and from London alongside the night train itself, plus transfer advice for wherever you're changing. For now, Brussels is the only integrated interchange: it sits on European Sleeper's route, and Eurostar serves it from London, so the combination unlocks overnight rail travel from the UK capital to Berlin, Hamburg, Prague, Milan and Lake Como.

The headline fare is tempting. London to Berlin starts at €101 (roughly £86), with the Eurostar leg priced in real time — the same numbers you'd see on Eurostar's own site. That's a genuinely competitive alternative to flying once you factor in airport transfers and a night's accommodation on the train.

There are caveats worth knowing before you click buy. The Choo-Choo partnership covers connections and advice, but if you miss a link or a train runs late, it's Choo-Choo that steps in to help — and rebooking, compensation and passenger rights will depend on which operators and ticket conditions apply to each leg. Extra costs may also apply. And the integration is narrow for now: you can't book Eurostar's London–Paris or London–Amsterdam services through European Sleeper, so if you'd rather connect anywhere other than Brussels, you're back to separate websites.

European Sleeper says it plans to add more connecting cities, which would broaden the one-stop booking option beyond the Belgian capital.

Why does this matter? Overnight trains are having a moment as travellers look to cut flights, and the fiddly multi-site booking process has long been the biggest friction point. A single flow for London plus a bed to Berlin or Prague removes a real barrier — ideal for anyone planning a low-carbon city break or a rail-based grand tour. Just read the small print on delays and exchanges before you commit, and if Brussels doesn't suit your itinerary, be ready to stitch the journey together the old-fashioned way.
