November is shaping up as a strong month for Maldives resort news, with a milestone anniversary, a major regional award and a piano residency all making headlines.

Kuredhivaru Resort & Spa in Noonu Atoll is marking eight years with a full programme of guest experiences throughout November, capped by a gala evening on 7 November. That night starts with cocktails on Bodumas Beach, moves to dinner at Onu Marche, and rounds off with live music, DJ sets and the traditional anniversary cake. Alongside the party, the resort has rolled out 'Eight Experiences for Eight Years' — a curated list including private dining in the Secret Garden, a castaway picnic on a private island, and open-air Cinema Under the Stars. Wellness-focused guests can book multi-day spa journeys, while thrill-seekers get deals on jetskiing and introductory Discover Scuba Diving sessions. Beach sports, paddleboarding and family games round out the month. Bookings go through the resort's reservations team.

Meanwhile, Alila Kothaifaru Maldives in Raa Atoll has been named Best Resort of the Year at the 2026 AHA Asia Hotel Awards, held at Capella Bangkok. The ceremony, now in its 15th year, began in 2010 as the CHA China Hotel Awards and expanded regionally this year. General Manager Thomas Weber credited the win to the team's unforced, personal style of service. The property has 41 beachfront villas, 36 overwater villas, three two-bedroom beach villas and the Boduge Residence — every category with a private pool. Guests can join guided house reef exploration with marine biologists, dine on a secluded sand cay called The Shack, and join cultural programmes on Maldivian traditions. The award follows a Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice nod earlier in 2026, which placed it in the top 10 per cent of hotels worldwide.

Music lovers have a reason to look at V Villas Maldives at Mirihi too: British pianist Richard Sully, once a resident pianist at London's Savoy, performs there from 4 to 9 November 2026. He plays popular standards, light jazz and film and theatre pieces entirely from memory. His schedule includes a beachfront Lobster Extravaganza, two evenings at the AKOYA Sea Lounge, a sunset cruise on the Mirihi Thari Sailing Yacht and a sundowner set at Muraka.

On the wellness front, six Maldives spas run by Mandara Spa have made the TOP 100 Spas of the World 2026 list by Luxury Lifestyle Awards. They span four partners: three Adaaran resorts (Prestige Vadoo, Select Meedhupparu, Select Hudhuranfushi), Cinnamon Velifushi, Th.ari Spa at NOOE Maldives Kunaavashi, and Wellness by Mandara at Barceló Nasandhura in the capital Malé — the last a handy option for travellers passing through the city rather than heading straight to a resort island.

For holidaymakers, the takeaway is that November is a good time to catch Maldives resorts at their most animated: anniversary events, live music and award-winning spas all add up to more than the usual sun-and-lounge routine.
