Dubai's long summer shutdown is ending. October is the month when the city's outdoor attractions flick back on one by one, and the 2026/27 season lineup is unusually stacked — with theme parks, a giant flower garden, a safari park and the much-loved Global Village all reopening within a two-week window.

The dominoes fall in order. Dubai Parks and Resorts kicks things off on October 7, bringing back its four-park complex: MOTIONGATE, LEGOLAND Dubai, LEGOLAND Water Park and Real Madrid World. Dubai Miracle Garden follows on October 8 in Al Barsha South, reopening its floral installations for the season. The Ripe Market returns to Academy Park on October 10 and then runs every weekend until May 2, 2027 — a solid pick for farmers' produce, street food and small local businesses. Dubai Safari Park opens its eighth season on October 12 in Al Warqa 5, and Global Village launches its 31st season on October 14 with country pavilions, rides and an absurd amount of street food. If you missed it earlier, Dubai Crocodile Park in Mushrif — home to roughly 250 Nile crocodiles, plus an aquarium and natural history museum — reopened in mid-September.

October also marks the return of the Dubai sunset, which is a genuine activity here. Kite Beach is the classic option for a barefoot swim and boardwalk stroll as the sky turns gold. Dubai Creek Harbour gives you Downtown's skyline reflected in the water, the western Palm Jumeirah Walkway frames the Burj Al Arab across the Gulf, and Al Qudra's desert lakes are the quieter pick — bring a blanket and make it a picnic or BBQ.

For daytime lounging, three city parks earn a picnic: Al Barsha Pond Park (50 acres with a lake, cycle track and playgrounds), Creek Park (botanical gardens, go-karts, mini golf and a 2.3km cable car), and Zabeel Park, one of the biggest, where you can tack on Dinosaur Park, the Panoramic Tower or an evening at Dubai Garden Glow. If you'd rather be served than spread a blanket, beach clubs are back too: SĀN Beach at Palm West Beach and Be Beach at Dubai Harbour reopened in late September, and Casa Amor at the Mandarin Oriental Jumeira returns in the first week of October.

Why it matters: if you're planning a Dubai trip, timing it to October gets you the whole city at its best — everything open, temperatures tolerable, and enough new-season openings that a week barely covers it. Book Global Village and Miracle Garden early in your trip since they draw crowds as the season ramps up.
