Apple gear rarely goes on sale, but for one day only — Monday, September 14, 2026 — shoppers can earn serious bonus miles on purchases from the Apple online store by routing their order through airline shopping portals. The rates on offer: up to 4x miles per dollar with Alaska Atmos Rewards Shopping and United MileagePlus Shopping, and up to 3.5x with American AAdvantage eShopping and Delta SkyMiles Shopping.
The mechanics are simple. Click through to Apple from a portal, shop as normal, and the bonus miles post on top of whatever your credit card already earns. On a $2,000 laptop order, a 4x bonus means 8,000 extra miles — a decent chunk toward a short-haul award ticket for something you might have bought anyway.
Which program is best? Value-wise, Alaska Atmos Rewards and American AAdvantage miles tend to stretch furthest, so those 4x and 3.5x offers arguably beat the United and Delta equivalents at the same headline rates. But there is a wildcard: Air France-KLM Flying Blue also runs an elevated Apple bonus, and its portal notably lacks the long product exclusion list that the four US airline portals carry. If you are buying one of the excluded devices, Flying Blue may be the only portal that pays out.
And the exclusion list is long. None of the US portals award bonus miles on the newest flagships and hot sellers, including the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 and 17e, Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, AirPods 5, MacBook Neo, Mac Studio, Mac Mini, both Studio Displays, the Pro Display XDR, Vision Pro and its accessories, AppleCare+, and Apple Developer Programs. Orders via government, military or veteran stores are out, as are gift card purchases (buying or paying with them), coupon codes not listed on the portal, taxes and shipping, and anything flagged for resale.
There are also lifetime purchase caps to keep in mind: six units per model across iPhone, Mac, iPad, Watch, Vision, Apple TV and HomePod categories, ten units of AirPods and most accessories, eight AirTag 4-packs, and 32 units of AirTag 1-packs and accessories. Hit the cap and no further rewards post, ever, across anything bought from the Apple webstore or app.
Elevated Apple bonuses like this pop up roughly once a month through these portals, so if today's rate is not compelling for your shopping list, another round is likely not far off. For anyone with a big-ticket Apple purchase on the horizon — and an eligible product — stacking a portal bonus on top of card rewards is one of the easiest freebies in the points hobby. Just double-check your product against the exclusion list before you click buy.
