Christmas in Toronto apparently starts before Halloween is even done. Miracle Bar, the city's much-loved holiday-themed pop-up, is back this November with two locations, a refreshed snack menu and the same over-the-top festive kitsch that has made it a seasonal ritual for locals.

The team behind the pop-up also runs Civil Liberties and Civil Works, two of Toronto's most decorated cocktail bars — and it shows. Miracle's drinks lean more craft than gimmick, despite the red-and-white decor, peppermint scent and loop of holiday classics. Expect a cocktail list featuring the Christmapolitan, the Snowball Old Fashioned and mulled wine, plus other seasonal pours.

This year brings a notable food upgrade: a partnership with Filipino catering company Fat Rice, adding savoury bites like lamb curry pie, turkey sausage rolls and warm pretzels — a solid move, since Christmas cocktails on an empty stomach rarely end well. The Harbourfront spot is also adding S'mores kits on a brand-new heated patio, so you can toast marshmallows without freezing.

There's a community angle too. The bar donates $1 from every drink sold to Nellie's, a Toronto women's shelter, which over a busy holiday season adds up to meaningful support alongside the tinsel.

You'll find Miracle at two addresses this year: 875 Bloor St. W in the Bloor West area and 235 Queens Quay W on the Harbourfront. Pop-ups like this operate on short seasons, so if you want a table, go early in the run or on a weeknight — December weekends tend to fill up fast.

For travellers, it's a good excuse to build a Toronto trip around the festive season. The Harbourfront location pairs neatly with a walk along Queens Quay and the lakefront, while the Bloor West spot sits right on a subway line with Ossington's bars and restaurants a short ride away. Between the Christmas markets, light displays and now two Miracle locations, Toronto does holiday cheer properly — and this is one of its most fun ways in.
