Citi has rolled out a limited-time welcome offer on the Citi / AAdvantage Business World Elite Mastercard: 75,000 American Airlines bonus miles after spending $5,000 in the first five months. The $99 annual fee is waived for year one, so new applicants get a year to test whether the card earns its keep.

The headline feature is what makes this card unusual, and it has nothing to do with the bonus. Spend on an employee card and both the employee and the primary cardholder earn Loyalty Points from the same purchases. Put $125,000 on an employee card and two people each bank 125,000 Loyalty Points — enough for Platinum Pro status apiece. On a personal American card, only the account owner gets credit. No other airline card does this, and American currently lists the double-earning structure as valid through the end of 2028.

There's a clever stacking trick for couples or business partners. The Citi Executive card adds 10,000 Loyalty Points at four thresholds (50k, 90k, 165k and 240k) in a qualifying year, triggered by all Loyalty Points in your AAdvantage account — no Executive card spend required. If a couple each holds an Executive card and runs $105,000 through a business employee card, both land roughly 125,000 Loyalty Points: two Platinum Pro seats and oneworld Emerald for the price of one spending stream.

The card itself earns 3 miles per dollar on AAdvantage Hotels and AAdvantage Cars bookings, and 2 miles per dollar in one chosen category (US shipping, office supply stores, or US advertising). Miles land in an AAdvantage Business account but can be transferred to individual accounts whenever you like. Perks include a $100 annual inflight credit for food, drinks and Wi-Fi, a first checked bag free on eligible domestic flights, preferred boarding for the primary cardholder and up to four companions, and no foreign transaction fees.

One long-game sweetener: spend $30,000 in a cardmembership year and you get a companion certificate — an eligible domestic Main Cabin roundtrip for a companion at $99 plus taxes. Note that the fee rises to $150 for existing cardmembers from January 24, 2027, though anyone approved now stays at $0 for the first 12 months.

Who is this for? Small business owners, freelancers with a side income, or couples who can pool spending. If you and a partner already put serious money through card payments — rent, suppliers, advertising — this is the cheapest route to mid-tier American status without flying for it. If your spending is modest, the double-Loyalty-Points trick is out of reach and a simpler personal card may serve you better.
