British Airways has restarted its Dubai route, ending a suspension that ran from March. The first flight back, BA105, left London Heathrow on Tuesday November 3 and touched down in Dubai at 7.40am the next morning. For now the route runs once a day, but the airline plans to double that to twice daily from next year.
The schedule works like an overnight hop: leave Heathrow at 8.40pm, land in Dubai at 7.40am local time — perfect for dumping bags and heading straight to brunch. The return leg, BA104, departs Dubai at 10am and reaches Heathrow at 2.10pm the same day. Return fares start from Dhs2,500.
The catch for travellers heading elsewhere in the UAE: British Airways has scrapped its Abu Dhabi services through to the winter 2027-2028 season. Dubai is the only Emirati city on its map for now.
British Airways isn't alone in coming back. Turkish Airlines has already resumed Dubai flights, and a cluster of European carriers — Air France, Lufthansa, Swiss and Eurowings — are all returning this month. Others are taking longer. Singapore Airlines won't be back until February 28, 2027, while Air Canada and KLM are pencilled in for March 2027. Virgin Atlantic fans have the longest wait: no London-Dubai flights until October 2027.
For anyone booking a Dubai trip from the UK, this is good news. A daily BA service means more competition on the route, morning arrivals that maximise your first day, and the promise of a second daily frequency soon. If you're flexible on airline, the arriving carriers this month should push fares down; if you specifically want Virgin, you'll need to look at alternatives for the next couple of years.
