Scuba gear brand Poseidon Diving Systems has rolled out a new first-stage regulator, the Xstream 360, and its headline feature is refreshingly simple: a rotating turret that spins a full 360 degrees. Four intermediate-pressure ports are built into that turret, so your hoses can swing freely around the first stage instead of jamming up against the valve wheel — a common annoyance for anyone who has fiddled with hose routing on a dive trip.

The spec sheet is solid for a wide range of divers. Alongside the four rotating IP ports, there's one axial IP port, two fixed IP ports and two fixed HP ports, all on a balanced, compact first stage. Poseidon's ruby ball valve technology sits at the core, promising precision and consistency in demanding conditions, while integrated TDA anti-freeze protection keeps the cold-water credentials the Xstream platform is known for. It's EAN40 ready out of the box, meaning nitrox users up to 40% oxygen can fill their tanks without extra prep.

Where the 360 really earns its name is configurability. For recreational divers it means a tidier, less cluttered setup. For technical divers the appeal is bigger: long-hose configurations, doubles, sidemount and rebreather rigs all benefit from hoses that can be positioned around cylinders, breathing-loop components and other kit rather than forced into awkward angles. Rebreather divers in particular get new options for routing hoses around the loop without kinks or snags.

There's also a practical note for the maintenance side of things. Poseidon deliberately designed the Xstream 360 so that no additional dedicated service tools are required, which means service centres already handling Xstream regulators can support the new model with their existing kit. Head of Global Sales Daniel Benér framed the goal as giving divers more freedom to configure their setup without changing what dealers and technicians already know about the platform.

If you're a travelling diver, why does this matter? Rental and service availability varies a lot by destination, and a regulator that slots into existing Xstream servicing networks is easier to keep in working order on the road. And if you dive cold water — think Nordic sites, mountain lakes or winter UK sea diving — the anti-freeze heritage of the Xstream line is a genuine selling point rather than marketing fluff. Tech and sidemount divers who constantly re-rig hoses will feel the difference most, but even holiday divers who rent tanks and carry their own reg will appreciate a setup that doesn't fight the valve wheel.
