The $300 credit lands immediately upon account approval and applies to hotel and vacation rental bookings made through Capital One Travel. That's the biggest such credit the card has ever offered, beating the $250 versions seen previously. The restriction is new, though: earlier credits could also cover flights, rental cars and activities. You'll need to use the credit within your first year as a cardholder, so it's not something to sit on.
The miles side of the deal is the standard amount — 75,000 is what this card normally offers, and the only richer deals have been targeted 100,000-mile offers handed out via QR codes in select airports in 2023 and 2024. But valued at 1.85 cents per mile (per The Points Guy's September 2026 valuations), the combined package comes to roughly $1,688 in value. That makes it the most valuable public welcome offer the card has had, and the best since 2024.
Getting full value from the miles means transferring them rather than redeeming them through the portal. Capital One has more than 15 airline and hotel partners, with Air Canada Aeroplan, Air France-KLM Flying Blue and Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer among the standout options for getting outsized value — think long-haul business class redemptions that would cost thousands in cash.
Ongoing earning is decent for a card with a $95 annual fee: 5 miles per dollar on hotels, vacation rentals and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel, and 2 miles per dollar on everything else. That makes it a reasonable everyday spender, not just a bonus-earning vehicle.
So is this the best-ever bonus in the credit card world? No — richer offers exist elsewhere. And if you refuse to book through an issuer portal on principle, the restricted $300 credit may annoy you. But for anyone who was already eyeing the Venture Rewards, waiting for something better looks like a losing bet: nothing higher than 75,000 miles has been publicly available in a couple of years, and the stays credit is a genuine sweetener if you have any hotel or rental bookings on the horizon. The timing matters too — you'll want to plan the $4,000 of spend so you can hit it comfortably within three months, whether that's through everyday bills, a big purchase you were making anyway, or both.
