Dubai's big theme park district is switching the lights back on. Dubai Parks and Resorts will welcome visitors again from October 7, 2026, with MOTIONGATE Dubai, Real Madrid World, LEGOLAND Dubai Resort and The World of Riverland all opening their gates at once.
The timing is deliberate. October marks the start of Dubai's outdoor season, when the fierce summer heat finally eases and evenings become pleasant — a window that runs through to late March. If you've been putting off a theme park trip because of the weather, this is the moment it starts making sense again.
There's new stuff to see, too. The World of Riverland, the free-to-wander dining and entertainment zone at the heart of the resort, is adding a bowling alley and Lamborghini racing simulators to its existing line-up of go-karting, archery, axe throwing, mini golf and arcades.
A quick rundown of what each park offers: MOTIONGATE is the Hollywood-inspired one, with 29 rides built around DreamWorks Animation, Columbia Pictures and Lionsgate franchises — think character meet-and-greets and movie worlds. Real Madrid World, the only football club theme park of its kind, packs in 40 experiences, including a coaster that climbs 460 feet above the park and the chance to train on a pitch. Families with younger kids will gravitate to LEGOLAND Dubai Resort, which combines a theme park with 40 rides and a water park with 20 slides.
Fernando Eiroa, CEO of operator Dubai Holding Entertainment, called the reopening a significant moment and hinted at "much more still to come" over the season — so expect further announcements as winter approaches.
Why it matters: this is one of the biggest family entertainment draws in the region, and a reopened, refreshed version right at the start of peak tourist season gives Dubai-bound travellers another solid reason to book an autumn or winter trip.
