Regent Seven Seas Cruises has given a first proper look at how guests will eat aboard Seven Seas Prestige, its first new ship class in over a decade. The headline addition is Solmar Terrace at Compass Rose, a daytime-only open-air venue found nowhere else in the fleet, joined by a full menu reveal for the Mediterranean speciality restaurant Azure and a refreshed menu for the Prime 7 steakhouse.
Solmar Terrace sits aft of Compass Rose on deck 5 and runs from noon to 6pm, so it works as a long lunch, an afternoon grazing session or a pre-dinner snack with the ocean as the backdrop. The menu leans global and small-plate: mezze starters, sushi including a daily roll, tapas and a yakitori grill. Asian-inspired bites range from Korean beef short rib and chicken or shrimp satay to teriyaki pork belly, broiled salmon and a king oyster mushroom option for vegetarians. Desserts stay sunny — tres leches cake and crema Catalana.
Azure, previously announced, is the second new venue on the ship and one of seven speciality restaurants within 11 dining experiences overall. Its mezze-style menu is built for sharing and pulls from Europe, Africa and Asia: miso-roasted eggplant, croquetas with piquillo peppers, gambas al ajillo, a chilled watermelon-feta salad, lobster orzo saganaki and duck leg confit.
Prime 7, the line's steakhouse, gets a recipe overhaul rather than a redesign. Culinary teams have reworked the classics with nods to acclaimed steakhouses such as Daniel's in Miami — honey-roasted baby back ribs, lobster thermidor, halibut fish and chips with yuzu aioli, roasted chicken supreme with spinach-porcini stuffing, plus sides and sweets like truffle mac and cheese, hashbrown tempura and a 14-layer chocolate mousse cake. These dishes debut on Seven Seas Prestige before rolling out across the rest of the fleet.
For anyone weighing up an ultra-luxury cruise, this matters because dining is where Regent makes its all-inclusive case: speciality restaurants carry no surcharge, and the new venues add daytime flexibility that big-ship lines often lack. Between Compass Rose, Pacific Rim, Chartreuse, Sette Mari, the Pool Grill, Coffee Connection and round-the-clock in-suite dining, the ship is positioning food as the main event rather than a supplement.
