Resort season is in full swing across Maui Nui, with properties on Maui and Lānaʻi rolling out everything from late-night paniolo-style bars to a hyperbaric chamber. If your Hawaii trip is on the horizon, here's what's changed.

Hāna-Maui Resort has opened Paniolo Bar, which is now the latest-closing place to eat or drink in East Maui — a bigger deal than it sounds in a region where dinner options vanish early. Open Wednesday to Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m., it pours Hawaiian twists on classics like the Kiawe Ember (an old-fashioned smoked with kiawe wood under a glass cloche) alongside plates such as shoyu-glazed pipikaula and ʻulu flatbread.

In Kāʻanapali, the Sheraton Maui — the area's oldest resort — has given its food scene a full reset. New arrivals include ʻUpena for breakfast buffet, The Sandbar for happy hour (there's a zero-proof mai tai built on black tea), and Isolana, a coastal Italian signature restaurant using local ingredients. Teppan-yaki Dan has been refurbished too, with redesigned teppan tables and a new entryway.

The Four Seasons Maui at Wailea, the island's only resort holding both AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five-Star ratings, has launched a Club Floor with 26 redesigned rooms, a dedicated concierge and a private lounge. Its new Kai Holo Spa goes well beyond massage: think aquathermal circuits, contrast therapy, IV therapy and a hyperbaric chamber, plus an oceanside signature ritual performed in a beachfront hale. Downstairs, Pantry Maui serves a mango sticky rice matcha latte worth a detour, and the new Queen's Garden courtyard honours Queen Liliʻuokalani with six interactive educational stations.

Over on Lānaʻi, the island's Four Seasons — also Five Diamond and Five-Star, and named to AAA's 2026 top-10 hotel lists — is leaning into excursions. Couples on babymoons get new spa rituals at Hawanawana Spa, while off-property options include shuttle trips into Lānaʻi City for newer spots like Lānaʻi Bowl (Hawaiian food, the island's only pizza, bowling and arcade games), free 90-minute visits to the famous Lānaʻi Cat Sanctuary, and charters on a new high-speed fishing boat with crew and lunch included.

Finally, the Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows in West Maui has added Nō Ka ʻOi Aesthetics, the only med spa in West Maui, offering injectables, microneedling and IV therapy. Families can catch Kuraya, a weekly comedy magic show from Maui-born performer David Kuraya, with tickets including appetisers and two drinks; locals get 10% off.

Why it matters: these updates change practical decisions — where to eat late in Hāna, which Kāʻanapali resort has the best new restaurant, and whether a Club Floor room or Lānaʻi excursion justifies the splurge. If you've been to these resorts before, they're arguably different properties now.
