Nassau is about to get a serious culture injection. From October 21 to 25, 2026, the fourth FUZE Caribbean Art Fair takes over Baha Mar, gathering more than 100 artists and over 20 galleries, museums and cultural institutions from upwards of 10 Caribbean countries — plus exhibitors from the wider Americas, Africa and the UK.
Launched in 2023, FUZE is the official arts arm of the Bahamas Culinary & Arts Festival and is run by The Current: Baha Mar Gallery & Art Center. This year's theme, "Coming Home," frames the whole programme around identity, belonging and reconnection — a fitting brief for a fair that positions itself as a bridge between Caribbean artists, collectors and international audiences rather than just a white-cube showroom.
The lineup is strong on regional heavyweights. Bahamian names to look out for include Lavar Munroe, April Bey and Antonius Roberts, joined by St. Martin's Deborah Jack and Jamaica's Charles Campbell, among others. Participating institutions include TERN Gallery, The Current at Baha Mar and Baltimore-based Galerie Myrtis. Expect a broad mix of mediums — painting, sculpture, photography, installation and multidisciplinary work — alongside panel talks, workshops and academic presentations.
It's not purely a collectors' event either. FUZE's education programme continues this year, with hundreds of students from New Providence brought in through backing from the Baha Mar Foundation and Scotiabank.
