One of Marylebone's grandest addresses has just had a serious refresh. The Landmark London, the five-star hotel beside Marylebone station, has completed a £3.8 million redesign of its 48 Marylebone Suites, working with Alex Kravetz Design to shift the mood from formal hotel pomp to something closer to a well-heeled private apartment.
The brief was clear: make the suites feel like an elegant London home rather than a hotel corridor's worth of matching furniture. That means marble-framed fireplaces as the centrepiece of living areas, bespoke bars for entertaining, built-in bookcases and soft layered lighting that shifts the rooms from workday to evening. The palette leans tranquil — blues, taupe and neutrals — lifted with bronze accents, textured wall panelling and tailored upholstery.
There's a suite for most kinds of stay. The Marylebone One Bedroom Suite runs 60 square metres, with a separate living room built around that statement fireplace plus a proper workspace. The Marylebone Junior Suite plays up the pied-à-terre feel, trading hotel formality for plush, residential comfort. Families get the Marylebone Family Suite: two double beds, a large living space, an Italian marble bathroom and the option of interconnecting rooms — genuinely useful rather than an afterthought.
The in-room kit is up to date, too. Expect Dyson hair tools, ARGENTUM toiletries, Smart TVs with Sky and a stocked bar nibbling on Cartwright & Butler treats. Travelling with kids? The hotel will set the room up with toys, activities and teepees, and sends little guests off with a warm cookie and milk at turndown — the kind of touch that earns loyalty from young families.
Why should this matter to you? If London hotels have started to feel interchangeable, this is a case of a classic property rethinking what a suite is for: less showpiece, more live-in. For a long stay, a work trip where you actually want to host people, or a family holiday where separate space matters, these rooms are designed to function like a short-let apartment — with five-star service attached. And the location is quietly excellent: Marylebone puts you within walking distance of Regent's Park, Baker Street and the shops and restaurants of Marylebone High Street, with the rest of central London a tube ride away.
