Kimpton has entered the all-inclusive game. The brand's first resort of its kind, Kimpton Tres Rios – All Inclusive, is now open on Mexico's Riviera Maya, set inside a 340-acre nature reserve where mangroves, freshwater rivers and cenotes meet the Caribbean.
The property has 335 rooms and suites, and the range is broad: mangrove-facing rooms for those who'd rather wake up to greenery than waves, multibedroom suites for families, a presidential suite at the top end, and plenty of options with direct pool access. Ocean views feature heavily throughout.
Food and drink is where the resort is still ramping up. Seven restaurants and five bars are planned, with six restaurants and four bars open this fall — highlights include Italian at Bacetto and Japanese at Kotoro. Two more arrive in early 2027: Elaia, a Mediterranean restaurant, and Nebbia, an adults-only rooftop bar. Worth knowing if you book early that the full lineup won't be in place until then.
Wellness gets serious square footage. The 10,000-square-foot Kej Spa centers on hydrotherapy plus massage and beauty treatments drawing on Maya traditions — its signature treatment is themed around the region's cenotes. There's also a two-story fitness center, and the surrounding reserve means swimming and exploring happen right outside your door rather than on an excursion.
It's a family-friendly setup on the whole: four outdoor pools and a kids' club cover the younger crowd, while the rivers and cenotes around the property give everyone something to do beyond the pool deck. For couples and groups, indoor and outdoor event spaces are built for weddings and celebrations, and the coming adults-only rooftop adds a grown-ups-only perch.
For travellers, the significance is simple: Kimpton brings its boutique, design-forward sensibility to a category — luxury all-inclusive on the Riviera Maya — that's become crowded with big resort names. If you like the IHG luxury brand's style but want the one-price convenience of all-inclusive, this is now an option, and booking before early 2027 means fewer outlets but potentially softer rates as the resort settles in.
