Snoopy's doghouse, Lucy's psychiatry booth and a bright yellow school bus have all landed in the middle of Orchard Road. The National Library Board's newest themed pop-up library, this time inspired by the PEANUTS comics, has opened at Plaza Singapura in Singapore — and it's free to enter.
The pop-up sits on Level 3 of the mall (units #03-86 to 89, just outside Best Denki) and runs daily from 10am to 10pm until 19 September 2027. Part of NLB's ReadSG initiative, which aims to make reading a habit by dropping themed libraries into everyday spaces, it follows earlier Star Wars, Sci-Fi and Comics & Games editions.
Getting in is simple: scan in with the NLB Mobile app eCard or a library-compliant card such as an NRIC, driver's licence or student smart card. Once inside, borrowing works via QR codes on each book — scan them with the app and return the books at any NLB library islandwide.
The space is split into zones lifted straight from Charles Schulz's comics. Outside, a yellow PEANUTS School Bus with Snoopy at the wheel (and a bus full of Woodstocks in the back) doubles as the first photo stop. Snoopy's Backyard is a garden-themed nook with kid-sized picnic tables, bush-shaped bookshelves and a giant plush Snoopy asleep on his doghouse. Charlie Brown's Classroom at the rear has seating for impromptu story time, an extensive Junior Fiction shelf (Geronimo Stilton included) and a section spotlighting Singaporean authors — think the Sherlock Sam detective series and the Singapore Sports Series featuring the Fandi family.
The cleverest touch is Lucy's Booth, a recreation of her famous five-cent psychiatry stand — except here it dispenses book recommendations instead of unsolicited advice. Punch in your age, mood and hobbies and it prints suggestions onto two strips that double as bookmarks. A touchscreen next door lets you browse and borrow Snoopy-related eBooks on the spot.
There's also a meet-and-greet draw for superfans: Snoopy and Charlie Brown appear on 7 and 9 November 2026, while Lucy and Snoopy show up on 8 November 2026, with three sessions each day at 11am, 2pm and 4pm.
For families in Singapore — or travellers visiting with kids — this is an easy, air-conditioned and completely free half-hour to an hour, right on the Dhoby Ghaut end of Orchard Road. The organisers themselves suggest coming before the school holidays, when crowds will thicken. Even if you're not chasing photo ops, the local-author shelf is a genuinely good introduction to Singapore's children's publishing scene. Just note that the meet-and-greet dates and the closing date mean there's no rush — the library will be around well into late 2027.
