Dinner in a vineyard as the Provençal sky goes orange sounds like the far countryside — but at Villa Eucléia it's a 20-minute walk from the centre of Saint-Tropez. The seven-bedroom manor is the newest plaything of Villa Cosy, a boutique hotel whose owners built it for guests who want the privacy of a standalone villa without giving up five-star service. Think of it as a very large suite with its own vineyard attached.
The house is a modern take on a traditional Provençal bastide, L-shaped around a heated outdoor pool edged by white roses, a pomegranate tree and an olive tree. Three bedrooms sit on the ground floor — including a master with hot tub and glass doors that open practically onto the pool — while four more upstairs all come with air-conditioning, safes, ensuites with Sothy toiletries and Dyson hairdryers, and similarly sized pool views, which conveniently removes any argument over who gets the best room. In total, up to 14 people can sleep here, making it a strong pick for big families or groups of friends.
The hotel scaffolding shows up in all the right places. A dedicated butler delivers beef filet with olive purée and Provençal ratatouille to your terrace table; the wine fridge is a six-foot minibar stocked with Louis Roederer, Dom Pérignon and Ruinart (billed like a hotel bar); and a concierge can arrange helicopter transfers, yacht charters, private chefs, babysitters, wine tastings or sports coaching. There's an evening turndown service, and the hotel's spa — five minutes on foot — does deep-tissue massages. Guests also get the hotel's own organic reds, produced exclusively for them.
Within the property itself, you may not need to brave town at all: a basement cinema room and compact gym, a terrace with loungers and dining table, space for ping pong, and a pétanque court for the locally beloved sport. If you do venture out, the beaches, restaurants and people-watching of Saint-Tropez are close enough for an evening, while the villa's position spares you the worst of high-season traffic and crowds. One honest caveat: a few of the hotel's balconies are visible across the vineyard, so this isn't total wilderness isolation.
Eco-minded travellers get a bonus: Villa Cosy is the first hotel in Saint-Tropez with Green Key certification, with composted food waste and recyclable bathroom packaging. It all adds up to a stay that reviewers say feels longer than the calendar suggests — three nights in Riviera bliss. For groups splitting the cost of a 14-person villa with hotel service baked in, it's a genuinely clever middle path between a private rental and a suite.
