Travelling with a dog usually means compromises: a long list of restrictions, a surprise pet fee at check-in, and a pup that's tolerated rather than welcomed. A new partnership between dog brand Woof and glamping operator AutoCamp is trying to flip that script at every one of AutoCamp's US locations.

AutoCamp, founded in 2013 and branded as "Nature's boutique hotel", runs eight upscale glamping properties across the country, from Cape Cod to Joshua Tree. Woof makes research-backed toys and treats designed to keep dogs mentally and physically healthy. The two launched their tie-up for National Dog Month in August, and it's now live across the whole portfolio.

The perks are genuinely practical rather than cosmetic. Pet fees are waived at all AutoCamp locations, which typically saves a meaningful chunk of change per stay. Every visiting dog gets a welcome kit featuring Woof's Pupsicle, a popular frozen-treat toy. Properties also host Yappy Hours for four-legged guests, serving treats like Woof's Calming Pupsicle Mix, and some locations sell limited-edition co-branded merch. Proceeds from that merch go to Muddy Paws Rescue, and a Pupsicle is donated for every dog staying under the partnership.

There's also a giveaway running alongside the launch: a two-night stay for you and your dog plus a one-year supply of Woof products. Entries are open until 30 September 2026 via the Woof x AutoCamp Summer Giveaway page — submit your email, follow both brands on social media, and earn up to four extra entries through a badge program. Runner-up prizes and limited-edition gifts are also up for grabs.

The broader point for dog owners is that pet-friendly on paper rarely means pet-friendly in practice. As any chihuahua-toting traveller will tell you, a hotel that allows dogs isn't the same as one that's actually set up for them — bowls and treats at check-in, staff who enjoy canine guests, and space to roam matter just as much. Glamping sites, with their outdoor settings and cabin or Airstream-style accommodation, are a natural fit, and AutoCamp now has one of the more substantive pet programs in the US hospitality space.

If you've been putting off a trip because boarding your dog costs as much as your own hotel room, this is worth a look. Check the giveaway page before you book — and even if you don't win, the waived pet fee alone makes it one of the better-value options for a pup-inclusive getaway.
