A theme park where the ride queues are short, the service is five-star and the star of the show is nature itself — that's the pitch behind BON, the Beauty of Nature Luxury Theme Park at VidantaWorld in Nuevo Nayarit, Mexico. It soft-opened on October 24, available only to guests of the VidantaWorld resort complex, with a full public opening planned for April 2027.

The project carries a reported price tag of around US$1.5 billion, and its creators at Grupo Vidanta are careful to avoid the word 'Disneyfied'. Instead of licensing famous characters, BON has built its own universe of original stories inspired by Mexico's jungles, lagoons and mythology. The luxury angle is mostly about breathing room: nightly visitor numbers are deliberately capped, so guests get more space, shorter waits and a slower pace than at the mega-parks.

When complete, BON will have more than 20 attractions across seven themed worlds. Five are open during the soft-opening phase: Laguna Feliz, Celebration Lagoon, Crystal Star Plaza, Discovery Jungle and Adventure Valley. Headline rides include The Rise of Soluma, a suspended coaster in Discovery Jungle with 372 metres of track, a 20-metre high point and top speeds of 54 km/h, built by Dutch firm Vekoma. Over in Laguna Feliz, the Intamin-made Floresta Drop lifts riders 40 metres above the trees before dropping them. Time Quest in Adventure Valley caters to families, and every night Celebration Lagoon's The Crater puts on a fountain, water and light show.

There's serious engineering pedigree behind it all — Vekoma, Intamin, Mack Rides, Zierer, Zamperla, Walltopia, Aerophile and Brogent have all contributed, the same firms behind rides at the world's best-known parks.

A big draw that already exists: Cirque du Soleil LUDÕ, a resident show conceived as part of the park from day one. It premiered in December 2025 in a custom-built theatre and features more than 40 artists from over 20 countries, mixing acrobatics, visual storytelling and dining.

So who is this actually for? Travellers already heading to the Riviera Nayarit–Puerto Vallarta area who fancy a theme park day without the shoulder-to-shoulder crowds, and families spanning grandparents to toddlers — BON is explicitly designed for multiple generations to enjoy together.
