Calgary's biggest holiday shopping fix is back. The Spruce Meadows International Christmas Market runs over four weekends in late 2026 — three in November and one in early December — filling the famous equestrian grounds in the city's southwest with more than 325 vendors selling gifts, decorations and seasonal food, styled after the classic Christmas markets of Europe.

The headline addition this year is Adult Night. Every Friday from 6 to 9 p.m., the market goes adults-only, with after-dark browsing and a Christmas-themed pop-up cocktail bar called Miracle at the Meadows. If you already hold a general admission ticket for that Friday, you can simply stay on — no extra ticket needed. Everyone else can buy Adult Night access separately.

Beyond the shopping, there's live entertainment, local food stalls and a genuinely charming draw: the reindeer are on site for visits on Sundays. The market spreads across both indoor and outdoor spaces at Spruce Meadows (18011 Spruce Meadows Way SW), and it runs rain, snow or shine — so warm layers and comfortable shoes are the move.

Dates to know: November 13–15, November 20–22, November 27–29, and December 4–6. Friday hours run noon to 9 p.m. (all-ages shopping until 6, adults-only after), Saturdays are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sundays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Tickets cost $20 for adults and $12 for children aged 3 to 12 and seniors 65-plus (plus fees), with kids two and under free. General parking is included in the price. You can buy through Showpass online or at the gate, but organisers warn the event sells out — booking ahead is the safe bet.

Why bother? Spruce Meadows is one of Canada's most recognisable sporting venues, and turning it into a European-style market makes for an unusually grand setting for holiday shopping. The split format works well for different travellers too: families get daytime weekends with reindeer and kid-friendly pricing, while the Friday night sessions give couples and friend groups a genuinely festive evening out with cocktails in hand. If you're in Calgary in late November, this is an easy half-day that covers gifts, dinner and Christmas atmosphere in one trip — and it pairs neatly with a city break, since downtown Calgary is roughly a 30-minute drive away.
