Costa Cruises has laid out its winter 2026-27 programme with a twist: six sailings, each built around a named concept rather than a simple port list. The line-up covers the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands and the Caribbean, and it previews a wider brand overhaul — from 2027, every Costa cruise will be packaged this way under the company's Sea & Land Wonder platform.
The Mediterranean gets three options. On Costa Toscana, the "Iconic Mediterranean" route hits the heavyweights: Rome, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca and Palermo. Costa Pacifica's "Mediterranean Soul" goes deeper into local colour, pairing La Ramblas and Naples' San Gregorio Armeno nativity-street with the souk at La Goulette in Tunis and Palermo's Ballarò market. The most unusual of the three, "Exotic Mediterranean" on the Pacifica, hops two continents, linking Malaga and Valencia with Tangier and Tunis — an Andalusia-plus-North-Africa combo in one week.
For winter sun, Costa Smeralda sails a Canary Islands itinerary taking in Lanzarote, Teide volcano on Tenerife and the beaches and dunes of Fuerteventura. Costa is also rolling out exclusive "Sea Destinations" — onboard-curated stops at sea — including the Canary Sea Darkest Spot, billed as the darkest point of the Atlantic, and a marine stop called Atlantis Crest, playing on the legend of the lost city.
The Caribbean programme runs on Costa Fascinosa with two itineraries. "Antilles Collection" treats the Lesser Antilles as a chain of distinct islands, promising a different culture each day, while "Caribbean Heart" keeps the Dominican Republic at the centre of the voyage. Sea Destinations here include Guadeloupe Bay, Catalina Bay, Turks & Caicos and a Caribbean Sea Darkest Spot stop.
The concept-first approach doesn't stop with winter. Costa says summer 2027 will bring a similar collection spanning the Western and Eastern Mediterranean and Northern Europe. Luigi Stefanelli, the line's vice president of worldwide sales, framed the shift as giving each sailing a clearer identity for guests — essentially, you now book a theme and a travel style, not just a ship and a route.
For travellers, the practical upshot is choice by mood. Want the famous sights? Pick "Iconic." Prefer markets and everyday street life? "Mediterranean Soul" is the fit. Chasing winter warmth, the Canaries and Caribbean itineraries offer reliable sunshine in the depths of the northern winter, with the added novelty of Costa's at-sea stops. Booking early for winter 2026-27 should also mean better cabin choice on the most eye-catching routes, particularly the two-continent "Exotic Mediterranean" sailing.
