Electronic Arts has revealed the full soundtrack for EA SPORTS FC 27, and it's the most globally spread selection the series has ever assembled: 120 songs from 36 countries, dropping players into everything from British rock to Nigerian-adjacent garage and French electronic scenes.

The headline names are familiar to anyone with a Spotify account. Interpol, The Strokes, The Neighbourhood, Royal Blood, Little Simz, Cage The Elephant, The War on Drugs, Nia Archives, Chase & Status and Barry Can't Swim all feature. But the real story is the mixing of big acts with unknowns — The Itch, Sycco, Bruvvy, Temper City, bed and Rose Gray all get beamed to millions of players, and there's previously unreleased material from Cage The Elephant ("Dying In Reverse") and Mura Masa. Sayf's "TOP OF THE POPS (Red Bull 64 Bars)" rounds out the selection.

For some artists, the placement is a lifelong moment. KYAN, whose track "Garage" (made with Enzo from the Block and Mu540) made the cut, says he's been playing the series since 2007 and had wanted to hear his own song in the game since childhood.

The music doesn't stop at the menu screen. FC 27's new social hub, The Grounds, is split into three zones — Parkside, Montclair and Zeiza — inspired by English, French and Argentine football cultures, each with its own music reflecting that identity. FC Mobile players also get a vote: from Sept. 10-12 they can pick one of five soundtrack tracks to join the mobile game on Oct. 12, following an earlier community vote that lands a retro track on Sept. 24.

EA's global head of music and marketing, Steve Schnur, describes the series' soundtrack as an international cultural institution after two decades, and it's hard to argue. Long before algorithmic playlists, football games were how a lot of people first heard Cansei de Ser Sexy, LCD Soundsystem or Kasabian. FC 27 doubles down on that role — it launches worldwide on Sept. 25, with Early Access from Sept. 18.
