Reality TV is getting its own full-day takeover in Toronto. Hayu, NBCUniversal's reality streaming service, has confirmed that Hayu FanFest will land in Canada for the first time on Saturday, March 20, 2027. It follows sold-out editions in London and Sydney, so expectations are high for the Toronto debut.
The format is built around the shows people actually binge: think The Real Housewives franchises, Below Deck and the rest of the hayu catalogue. On the day, fans can expect on-stage panels and interviews with cast members, meet-and-greet photo ops, immersive brand activations, exclusive merchandise drops and what the organisers promise will be plenty of surprises.
Olga Puzanova, SVP of DTC Marketing at NBCUniversal International Networks & DTC, framed the event as a celebration of fandom rather than just a promotional stunt — the idea being that reality TV is as much about the community around the shows as the shows themselves. Given how loudly Canadian fans have embraced Housewives reunions and Below Deck drama, Toronto was an obvious third city.
Tickets haven't gone on sale yet. Fans who want first access can register at fanfest.hayu.com to be notified the moment they drop — and given London and Sydney both sold out, signing up early is probably the smart move.
Why it matters for travellers: if you're planning a Toronto trip in early 2027 anyway, this is a genuine one-day-only event worth building an itinerary around — a chance to see reality TV personalities live in a city with a strong food and nightlife scene to pair with it. For hardcore fans, it could justify a dedicated weekend in the city. Just keep an eye on the ticket announcement; with a one-day format and two prior sell-outs, availability likely won't last long.
