Hurtigruten has kicked off its annual Loyalty Month, and members of its 1893 Ambassador program can now stack an extra discount on top of the line's existing Norway sales offers. Bookings made by October 15, 2026 qualify for sailings running as far out as March 2029.

Here's the maths. The line's current "Live the Legend of Norway" campaign gives everyone up to 30 percent off. On top of that, Level 1 members of the 1893 Ambassador program (named after the year Hurtigruten was founded) get an additional 5 percent off, while Level 2 members get a further 10 percent. The discount applies to everyone in the cabin, not just the member, and it combines with other offers. You just need to add your membership details at booking — whether you book directly, through a travel advisor, or with a trade partner — and it's applied automatically.

The offer covers four product lines. That includes the classic Coastal Express sailings through March 31, 2029; Svalbard Line sailings in the summer 2027 season; the North Cape Line from Oslo, running between September 25, 2026 and December 17, 2027; and the new Signature Limited Collection itineraries. That last one is the interesting bit: Hurtigruten is launching three new Signature Limited Collection sailings next year, built around two of Norway's biggest draws — fjords and the Northern Lights. It's the first time the company has dedicated sailings purely to those two sights.

Loyalty is clearly working for the line. Hurtigruten reports a 13 percent jump in loyalty members compared with the same period last year, and head of Hurtigruten Americas Matt DeWitte points out that the Norwegian coast changes so much between seasons that repeat guests keep coming back to sail it at different times of year, on different ships and routes. That's the real logic of a loyalty scheme on this route — a winter voyage past snow-dusted mountains and under auroras is a genuinely different trip to a midsummer sailing under the midnight sun.

Why it matters: if you've sailed with Hurtigruten before and never claimed your 1893 Ambassador status, this is a decent window to book a return trip at a noticeably lower fare — with a booking window stretching nearly three years out. And even first-timers can benefit from the base campaign discount; membership just sweetens it further. Non-members currently get up to 30 percent off the same sailings, so the program perk is the extra 5–10 percent layered on top.

Worth noting the deadlines: bookings need to be made by October 15, 2026, and the deepest discounts apply to the furthest-out departures. If the Northern Lights or Svalbard's High Arctic summer is the goal, planning ahead here genuinely pays. Source: Cruise Industry News.
